10 Cool Facts About The Hunger Games and Its Cast!

Fans of The Hunger Games are eagerly anticipating the release of the second movie, Catching Fire – which hits theaters this weekend. In order to celebrate the release, we’ve compiled 10 fun and interesting facts about the movie and your favorite cast members! Enjoy!

10. During one scene in the arena, Jennifer Lawrence, who will be reprising her role as Katniss, hit herself with her bow while she was sprinting and fell into the pool of jets. Lawrence was deaf in one ear as a result for almost six days.

9. While Jennifer Lawrence was paid $600,000 for her role as Katniss in “The Hunger Games,” for “Catching Fire,” she has negotiated $10 million to reprise her role.

8. When it comes to stunts, Jennifer Lawrence finds the “actual running” to be the most challenging part. Lawrence said that she even hired a running coach to train for the film because she thinks that she runs weird.

Jena Malone, an up and coming actress, will play Johanna Mason in “Catching Fire.” Malone has starred in numerous movies, including “Donnie Darko,” “Into the Wild” and “Pride and Prejudice.” In 2000, Malone emancipated herself from her mother, preventing her from interfering with Malone’s career and earnings.

6. Liam Hemsworth will be reprising his role as Gale Hawthorne. Hemsworth is best known for having been engaged to Miley Cyrus. Some of Hemsworth’s favorite actors include Leonardo DiCaprio, Heath Ledger and Paul Newman.
