Kristin Cavallari has had everyone’s attention since her days on Laguna Beach. There was just something about her. She was sassy, outspoken and a really loyal friend. Now that she’s no longer on reality TV, we don’t see a lot of her, and looking back, we don’t seem to know a whole lot about her either. We’re obsessed with all things Kristin, so here are 10 things you didn’t know about the former reality star:

10. Lasik

In 2007, she had Lasik eye surgery and documented it for a webisode on realitylasik.com.

9. Home Sweet Home

She’s currently living in a 6 bedroom, 10.5 bathroom mansion in Nashville, Tennessee, but she still has a home in Winnetka, Illinois. “Jay hates L.A.,” Kristin told Elle. “And Chicago’s just not home.”

8. Anti-Vax

She has no plans to vaccinate her children. “You know what, I’ve read too many books about autism,” she said on The Independents. “There is a pediatric group called Homestead or…Home First…They’ve never vaccinated any of their children, and they’ve never had one case of autism.”

7. Not a California Girl

She was born in Denver, Colorado, and spent part of her childhood there. When her parents divorced, she and mother moved to Chicago, Illinois, and her father and her (now deceased) brother Michael moved to Laguna Beach, California.

6. Giving Back

In 2010, she went to El Salvador and did some charity work. She decorated schools with murals and played games with students. “It really put everything into perspective and made me appreciate everything I have,” she said. “Seeing how happy and excited the kids were was the best feeling in the world.”

5. Writer

She’s writing a lifestyle book Balancing on Heels, which is due out in spring 2016. “It’s basically an intimate look at my life,” she told E! News. “It’s going to be a lot of fashion and beauty. Because I’m such a big health nut, it’s also going to be health and fitness. And then a lot of recipes because I love to cook and a lot of mommy and wife stuff. So really just everything in my life…and I think it’s just a great way for my fans to connect with me.”

4. Rejected John Mayer

John Mayer once hit on Kristin, but she was having none of it. “Yeah. I just feel like I don’t need to be another notch on his belt,” she told Ryan Seacrest. “I think he’s a really nice guy. One of my friends is hanging out with him.”

She once said that she aspires to be a talk show hostess or a news anchorwoman. She seems to have accomplished this. She currently co-hosts The Fabulist for E!

2. Rebel

While living with her mother in Chicago, she started to act rebelliously. She pierced her own belly button and starting sneaking out. Her mother couldn’t handle it and threatened to send her to boarding school, but her dad intervened and invited her to live in Laguna Beach with him and her brother.
