Kyle Richards is a veteran housewife on Bravo’s hit series, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The reality show just began premiering the sixth season, and despite her star standing or financial success, Kyle is one of the most grounded housewives on the show, making her one of the most popular housewives. She manages to exude a level of normalcy throughout her lavish Beverly Hills life as she carries out the daily task of being a doting mother to four girls. Being a star on a reality television series, Kyle tends to lay it all out on the table for fans to see, but here are 10 things you might not have known about the actress:

10. Child Actor

Despite her minimal acting roles today, Kyle Richards and her sister Kim Richards were once successful child stars. As a child appearing in numerous TV shows and films, she’s most recognized for her 19-episode role on Little House on the Prairie, but one of her most bizarre roles was in the 1977 James Brolin film, The Car. Kyle did a lot of horror films as a child, but this one was definitely the weirdest! The movie is about an evil car that went on a murderous rampage. Let’s just say, we’re thankful she’s moved onto bigger and better things! In the Instagram photo below, Kyle writes: “me stuck in the middle of #jamesbrolin & @kimrichards11 filming the new movie The Car…I did not appreciate how cute my movie “Dad” was.”

9. Family Feuds

Kyle’s eldest sister Kathy Hilton is the mother of controversial socialites Paris and Nicky Hilton. This past summer, the family celebrated Nicky Hilton’s wedding to James Rothschild in London, England, but oddly, Mauricio and two of Kyle’s daughters were absent from the event. On the show, viewers learn that only Kyle, Farrah and Portia received an invite to the wedding. Us Weekly reported back in July that Mauricio was absent because he is on the outs with Kathy Hilton’s husband, Rick, after a “business fallout.” Brandi Glanville, Kyle’s former co-star on RHOB, outed the feud in a series of tweets: “Let me tell u what I wouldn’t do 4 a TV show @kylerichards17 exploit 1 sisters sobriety & f**k over the other @KathyHilton husbands business!” In a second tweet, Glanville alleged that Mauricio stole clients from Rick Hilton: “@kylerichards17 #truthcannon your husband use to work for kathy’s husband until he secretly stole agents & clients to start the Agency #STFU…”

8. E.R. Actress

Since her fruitful child acting career, Kyle has made some reappearances to the small screen in her adult life with a recurring role as Nurse Dori on the long-time hit show known as ER from 1998 to 2006. More recently, she landed a guest spot on the popular daytime soap opera show, Days of Our Lives and she’s also appeared as herself on her niece’s reality television series, The Simple Life.

7. President Obama

As a member of the elite Beverly Hills community and a prosperous career in acting, Kyle has rubbed shoulders with a lot of famous people, but one of the most interesting has got to be President Barrack Obama. The two met in 2011 at a fundraiser at the House of Blues in L.A., during their conversation Kyle learned that Michelle Obama is a frequent viewer of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills!

6. Losing her Virginity

Kyle Richards revealed on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, that she lost her virginity to the famous actor, C. Thomas Howell. He was her first serious boyfriend and the two dated for five years, even attending prom together. Howell has been in some big hits like Soul Man and The Hitcher, but is best known for his role in The Outsiders alongside Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon and Patrick Schwayze.

5. Real Estate

Her current long-time husband, Mauricio Umansky is one of the best real estate agents in the United States. He has been featured on Million Dollar Listing numerous times, and his step-daughter Farrah (Kyle’s eldest) has recently dipped into the business. It seems like she’s ready to run with the big dogs as her first deal was selling Kendall Jenner a $1.4 million condo. Kyle posted the photo below with the caption: “Busy day at @theagencyre with both crews from Million Dollar Listing LA & Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

4. Kyle was Engaged When She Met Her Husband

Kyle has been happily married to her current husband, Mauricio for 20 years, but some might not know when she first met Mauricio, she was engaged to be married to someone else! Kyle’s fiance at the time was Michael Tuck, a CBS newscaster who was 24 years older than her. She broke off the engagement when she met the real estate broker, Mauricio in 1994, and the two married in January 1996 when she was four months pregnant with her second eldest daughter, Alexia.

3. Young Bride

Kyle Richards married her first husband, Guraish Aldjufrie, when she was only 19-years-old. The marriage took place while she was pregnant with her eldest daughter, Farrah. They married in 1988, but divorced two years later. Farrah still keeps in contact with him; he lives in Indonesia.

2. Converted Religion

Kyle’s husband, Mauricio, is of Greek and Russian descent, but he was raised Jewish while growing up in Mexico. Kyle on the other hand is of Irish and Welsh descent. We must admit, part of Kyle’s popularity on the Bravo show stems from Mauricio, so we aren’t that surprised to learn that in 1996 she converted to Judaism for him!

1. Driving at a Young Age

Growing up as a child star with parents that strongly encouraged her career and financial success, Kyle admits freely on the show that she had a lot of freedom growing up. In order to get to her acting auditions and be more independent, her parents taught her how to drive a car at the age of 13: “I was driving way before I had a license. My mom was a rule breaker. She did not give a sh*t about any rules. If she wanted to let me drive to work at 13, she was gonna do it, and she trusted me.”
