11 Good Actors/Actresses Who Have Made Really Bad Movies!

Sometimes good people make bad decisions. And, sometimes, good actors decide to star in bad movies. Such is the case with these 11 stars.  For whatever reason, these renowned actors and actresses decided it would be a good idea to sign on to star in these horribly bad movies. Take a look:

11. Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz isn’t just a pretty face – she is also a critically acclaimed actress who has received four Golden Globe nominations! Unfortunately, after receiving widespread recognition for her roles in “Being John Malkovich,” “Vanilla Sky” and “Gangs of New York,” she appeared in films like “Bad Teacher,” “What Happens in Vegas” and “Knight and Day,” none of which highlighted her amazing acting potential.

10. Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey’s performances in “The Mask,” “Liar Liar,” “The Truman Show,” “Man on the Moon,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” have all garnered him Golden Globe nominations. In fact, he won for “The Truman Show” and “Man on the Moon;” however, it has been about a decade since he had a role in a critically acclaimed films and instead he has been involved in a string of flops like “Fun with Dick and Jane,” “Number 23” and “Yes Man.”

8. Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage has had a prolific career, which has included a number of critically acclaimed movies, as well as some critically acclaimed performances in “Leaving Las Vegas” and “Adaptation;” however, many of the films he has been involved with since, like “Bangkok Dangerous,” “Sonny” and “Knowing,” have earned mostly negative reviews, tarnishing his credibility as an actor.

7. Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock’s film career has included a string of hits and flops. The same year that she received an Oscar for her performance in “The Blind Side,” she also received a Razzie for Worst Actress and Worst Screen Couple (which she shared with Bradley Cooper) for “All About Steve.” Unfortunately, this wasn’t her first Razzie nomination. She was nominated for three others for her work in “Speed 2: Cruise Control” and “Demolition Man.”

6. Christopher Walken

Christopher Walken has been acting in films since the 1960s and, while some of his films (“The Deer Hunter” and “Catch Me if You Can”) have garnered the actor critical acclaim, many others (“Gigli” and “Stepford Wives”) were so bad it’s almost unbelievable that the award-winning actor’s name was associated with the projects.

5. Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker was fantastic as Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City” and the critics agreed, which is why she won four Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Emmy Awards for her performance. Unfortunately, since the show ended, many of her films – including “Failure To Launch” and “I Don’t Know How She Does It” – have not been box office hits and they have received mixed reviews at best.

4. Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody received widespread recognition and critical acclaim after he starred in “The Pianist,” a role that won him the Academy Award for Best Actor; however, since then he has been involved in some questionable films including “Predators,” “Giallo” and “Wrecked.” All of these films that have received negative or mixed reviews and, if they have stayed in filmgoers’ imaginations, it is probably for the wrong reasons.

3. Halle Berry

Halle Berry is obviously a talented actress and her performances in “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge,” “Monster’s Ball,” “Their Eyes Were Watching God” and “Frankie & Alice” are a testament to that. Unfortunately, it doesn’t explain her involvement in “Catwoman,” “The Call” and “Movie 43.” Berry was nominated for Razzie Awards for her performance in all of these films and she won for “Catwoman.”

2. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is another prolific actor in Hollywood who has also received a great deal of critical acclaim – particularly for his role in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. Unfortunately, not all of his films have been critical successes. “Alice in Wonderland,” “The Lone Ranger” and “The Rum Diary” all received either mixed or negative reviews.

1. Kate Hudson

When Kate Hudson starred in “Almost Famous,” everyone thought she was headed for great things. Unfortunately, in the last 12 or so years, she hasn’t managed to reach that level of critical acclaim again. Instead she mostly stars in predictable rom-coms like “Fool’s Gold” and “Bride Wars,” neither of which showcase her talents in the same way that “Almost Famous” did.
