5 Things You Need To Know About Fuller House

For those of you who were hoping for a “Full House” reunion, we have some good news – Netflix has ordered a 13-episode revival of the family sitcom. While it is definitely going to be similar in some ways to the original, it is also going to be completely different (or so we assume). Not all of the characters you grew to know and love will be making a return; however, we think fans will see enough of the old cast to keep them satisfied. Even if you have mixed feelings about the upcoming spinoff, we know that you’re dying to know what to expect, so here are a few things to satisfy your curiosity!

5. D.J. Tanner Is Pregnant And Widowed

“Fuller House” is going to be centered around Candace Cameron Bure’s character D.J. Tanner. Her life takes an unexpected turn, which is not that dissimilar from what happened to her father in the original series. “My character, I am unfortunately widowed,” she told E! News. “D.J.’s had a rough life – her mom died and now her husband died. She has two boys and she’s pregnant with her third, so life’s tough. She needs help, so she asks Stephanie and Kimmy to come live with her and help her raise her kids. It’s kind of the flip of the original Full House.”

Bure has promised fans that “Fuller House” will be fresh and contemporary. “It will be fresh and contemporary and it’ll be current,” she said. “We’re not going to try and re-do the old Full House stories, but I think that we will capture the same feel of the show.”

4. Kimmy Gibbler’s A Mom

Andrea Barber who played Kimmy Gibbler will be returning to the series. Her character is still BFFs with D.J. Tanner. When D.J.’s husband suddenly dies, her character and her character’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona agree to move in and help her friend raise her growing family. Don’t expect Kimmy to get along with Stephanie Tanner though. According to Jodie Sweetin, these two are still archenemies.

Barber hasn’t been doing much acting since “Full House” was cancelled back in 1995. When the sitcom ended, she decided to focus on school. She received her B.A. in English from Whittier College and her M.A. in Women’s Studies from University of York, England. She did a lot of traveling and then settled down with Jeremy Rytky, who would become her husband, and had two children, a son Tate and daughter Felicity. She’s been a stay-at-home, so this is her first venture into the working world since having children.

3. Stephanie Tanner’s Become A Free Spirit/World Traveler

As we already know, Jodie Sweetin’s character Stephanie Tanner will be one of the central focuses on “Fuller House.” Unlike D.J., Stephanie doesn’t sound like she’s really settled down. “Stephanie has sort of been the wild world traveler, and I’m looking forward to bringing to life Stephanie as she is today and creating a real backstory for her. She’s a free spirit, and that will be obvious in the character she’s become,” Sweetin told Entertainment Weekly.

The former child star is pretty excited to be working with her television family once again. “Now that it’s actually happening, it’s almost too good to be true,” she said. “To be able to do a series with people I love – who are like family – to play a character I loved so much and to be able to do that in this point in my life when things are going so well for me and I have a completely different perspective on things…I’m really, incredibly grateful.”

2. Expect To See Uncle Jesse

John Stamos will be reprising his role as Uncle Jesse on “Fuller House,” but only as a guest star. According to him, the whole cast will get together for a reunion special and then it will “go into the spinoff.” Interestingly, Stamos is one of the only former cast members to have reached deal with Netflix to guest star on the new series. Lori Loughlin is still in talks. “They made deals with half the cast, but not the other half,” she told “Access Hollywood Live.” “I don’t have a deal, Dave doesn’t have a deal, Bob, we’re all in negotiations. I think we would all like to come back, if the powers that be are fair to all of us.”

We’re sure that they will guest star on the spinoff series, but it is interesting that they only made a deal with half the cast and then forgot about everyone else.

1. Will The Olsen Twins Return?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen didn’t even know that a spin-off of “Full House” was in the works. They found out the same way that we did – when John Stamos announced it on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” In a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily, they sounded pretty surprised that they were just hearing about it. It looks like the show’s creators didn’t even bother asking them if they wanted to participate. To everyone’s surprise, the twins didn’t reject the idea and instead sounded interested. “I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening,” Mary-Kate told the magazine.

We personally aren’t expecting these two mini-moguls to take a big part in the new show. They have their fashion empire to run, which is a full time job. Unlike many of their former cast mates, these two do not have to worry about how they are going to pay the bills – they are already filthy rich.
