Kristen Doute was more of a supporting player during the first season of Vanderpump Rules, but since then she’s proven that like Stassi Schroeder and Jax Taylor, she can bring the drama, no problem, which is why she’s taken center stage on the show. We know that she can be a divisive sort of personality – you either love her or you hate her – and we also know that, despite bringing lots of drama to the show, she’s actually kind of private. We’ve done some digging and have these 7 things you didn’t know about Kristen Doute:

7. Dearborn

She was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, and moved to L.A. to start a career in show business.

6. T-Shirts

The budding entrepreneur has a t-shirt line called JamesMae. While some people might think that the name has something to do with her one time boyfriend James Kennedy, the t-shirt collection is actually named after her niece and nephew.

5. Aspiring Actress

She wanted to become an actress and was involved in a short film called “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Dreamer” and in features called “Behind Your Eyes” and “23 Minutes to Sunrise” before she landed a part on the reality TV series Vanderpump Rules.

4. Getting Help

After breaking up with James Kennedy, the reality TV starlet sought therapy. “I learned that it’s not necessary to react,” she said. “I just had to chill the eff out.” Once she realized that she could just be in the moment without being impulsive, things got a lot easier.

3. A Healthy Relationship

She says that her relationship with Brian Carter is an “amazing, mature, adult relationship.” She never feels the need to snoop through his phone, like she has with past boyfriends, and she even forgets his phone password which, given her previous relationships, is kind of weird for her.
