The television series Alias is best remembered for launching Jennifer Garner’s career; however, there was a lot more to the show than just that. It featured tons of action, as well as a considerable amount of drama. Since it’s been over 10 years since the series went off the air, here are 8 things you didn’t know about Alias:

8. Goodbye Bradley

Bradley Cooper’s character on Alias, Will Tippin, became more and more sidelined while he was on the show. Bradley was so unhappy with this that he asked to be written off the show.

7. Created for Jennifer Garner?

According to creator J.J. Abrams, he wanted Jennifer Garner to portray Sydney Bristow. “There was something about her that I just thought was really special. I always thought she had something in her personality that was funnier and sexier and smarter and more mischievous than anything I’d seen her do. And when I wrote Sydney, I wanted to show that,” he said.

6. The Only Real Competition

Melissa George, who went on to play Lauren Reed on the show, was also considered to for the part of Sydney Bristow.

5. Five Auditions

Jennifer Garner reportedly auditioned five times for the part of Sydney Bristow.

4. Becoming an Action Star

Jennifer Garner, who had no background in martial arts or gymnastics, took martial arts lessons for a month during the audition process and, once she was hired, she did many of the physical stunts herself.

3. Not Hot Enough

Jenna Fischer auditioned for the role of Sydney Bristow. According to her, they liked her acting, but they told her she wasn’t hot enough for the part.

1. Expensive Wigs
