11 Real Housewives Who Married Pro Athletes

There seems to be a common thread among many of the Real Housewives cast members when it comes to significant others. Many of the women are married to professional athletes, whether it be baseball, basketball or football. Not all of these women still star on their respective show, and many of these couples are no longer an item. Here’s a list of all the Real Housewives who are, or were at one point, married to professional athletes!

11. Robyn and Juan Dixon

The Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Robyn Dixon has a rather unique relationship with her ex-husband, Juan Dixon, who is a retired NBA player. Robyn and Juan are high school sweethearts who got married before he became a professional basketball player. Even though the couple are now divorced, they continue to live under the same roof and co-parent their two children as if they were still married. The state of their relationship has been a constant topic on the show, with many people questioning whether or not they will move forward with reconciling, or finally go their separate ways.

10. Kathryn Edwards and Donnie Edwards

She only lasted for one season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but it was long enough for fans to fall in love with her hot husband, Donnie Edwards! Both Kathryn and Donnie Edwards share a love for sports, but Donnie is the one who formerly played in the NFL, first for the San Diego Chargers, and later the Kansas City Chiefs in 2003. Kathryn was previously married to NFL Hall of Famer, Marcus Allen.

9. Lisa Wu and Ed Hartwell

Lisa Wu joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in season 1 and stuck around for two seasons. While she was on the show, Wu led viewers to believe that she had a perfect marriage to former NFL player, Ed Hartwell. He was drafted to the Baltimore Ravens, and once played for the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders and Las Vegas Locomotives. The couple got married in 2005 and had one son together, but not long after she left the show for good, Ed filed for divorce in 2011.

8. Jeana Keough and Matt Keough

No one was surprised when Jeana Keough, former cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County, announced she was getting a divorce from husband, former MLB player, Matt Keough. The couple share three children together, Shane, Kara, and Colton. Matt’s career was extensive. He pitched for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros, but his playing career ended in 1992 after he was hit in the head by a foul ball. During her first two seasons on the show, Matt was caught on camera being extremely aggressive and demeaning toward his wife. They had a very volatile relationship. Thankfully, she announced their separation at the season 2 reunion, but then allowed him to continue to live in their home. It actually took them years to finalize their divorce.

7. Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen

If Larsa Pippen looks familiar that’s because she not only starred on The Real Housewives of Miami back in 2011, but she’s also sporadically appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians from 2011 to 2015 as a family friend. Pippen married NBA legend Scottie Pippen in 1997. Scottie is best known for his time with the Chicago Bulls, but he’s also played for the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers. After having one of the most enviable marriages in the NBA, the couple filed for divorce in October 2016, but in September 2017 they were seen together on numerous couple outings in Beverly Hills which leads us to believe these two are back on…at least for now. Larsa and Scottie have four children together, Scottie Jr, Sophia, Preston, and Justin.

6. Sheree Whitfield and Bob Whitfield

Sheree Whitfield married NFL player, Bob Whitfield, in 2000 after having two children together, a son named Kairo in 1996, and a daughter named Kaleigh in 1999. Sadly, their marriage didn’t last very long. They got divorced in 2007, but have continued to co-parent their children together. They’ve gone through many ups and downs, including dating other people and going to court over child support. Bob was formerly a football player for the Atlanta Falcons from 1992 to 2003, but has since retired. In the most recent seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, it seemed as though these two were trying to work through their problems and possibly rekindle their relationship, but after an awkward confrontation in Maui, it’s become clear these two are better off as just friends.

5. Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds

Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King Edmonds is married to one of the more famous husbands on this list, MLB player Jim Edmonds. The former St. Louis Cardinals All-star retired from the game in 2010 but has remained a part of the scene by attending the team’s spring training and serving as a member of the FOX Sports Midwest broadcast team. Meghan and Jim enjoyed a whirlwind romance after meeting through mutual friends. They got married in October 2014 and Meghan is now a stepmom to Jim’s four children from his previous marriages, but also a mother to their first child together, Aspen, who was born in November 2016.

4. Charrisse Jackson Jordan and Eddie Jordan

It seemed as though Charrisse Jackson Jordan had the perfect life when The Real Housewives of Potomac premiered, but as the show moved into its second season, it became clear she’d paid a hefty price for the lifestyle she lived, and it ended up costing her a marriage. Charrisse was the wife of former Rutgers’ head men’s basketball coach Eddie Jordan, who also played in the NBA for the Cavaliers, Nets, Lakers and Trail Blazers. The two got married in 1998 and had two children together, Jackson, 18, and Skylar, 16. Charrisse was open about the fact that the majority of the time she lived on her own because her husband lived out of town while he coached, but then during the season 1 reunion she announced her husband had stopped speaking to her when the show went to air and that they’ve since begun the process of divorce.

3. Porsha Williams and Kordell Stewart

When Porsha Williams joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2012 she was still a newlywed to NFL player Kordell Stewart, who was a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The couple met while she was working at the Lucky Lounge in Atlanta and got married in May 2011. Their wedding aired on WE on the show Platinum Weddings. While married to Stewart, Porsha was a stepmom to his son, Syre, but through their time together on RHOA, it became clear that Porsha wanted a child of her own. Viewers got to see many of the ups and downs in their relationship before Stewart blindsided her with a divorce in 2013.

1. Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann

How could we forget these two? The Don’t Be Tardy stars first met at a charity event back in May 2010. Kim was filming Real Housewives of Atlanta at the time, while Kroy, a professional NFL player, was participating in the Dancing with Atlanta Stars event. Kroy is currently a free agent, but when he first met Kim he was a defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons. Their meeting aired during season 3 of RHOA, and in 2011 they tied the knot at their home in Roswell, Georgia. Kroy and Kim have since had four children together, Kroy Jagger “KJ,” 6; Kash Kade, 5; and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 4. In March 2013, Kroy legally adopted Kim’s two daughters, Brielle and Ariana, who were from her previous marriage. They’ve now been happily married for six years and continue to star on their Bravo spin-off series, Don’t Be Tardy!
