Actor Regé-Jean Page has taken the world by storm since the December 2020 release of Netflix’s hit series, Bridgerton. 12. He is British and Zimbabwean

Regé-Jean Page is a British actor, but he was born in Zimbabwe and moved to London when he was 14. In an interview with Interview Magazine, the Bridgerton star opened up about his home life sharing, “But throughout that period my family was rather spread out—I have family in South Africa, Australia, Sweden, Grenada, Florida—so you make pit stops and you grow your perspective.”

11. He’s collaborated with Shonda Rhimes previously

Fans might be surprised to learn that Regé-Jean Page has actually collaborated with Bridgerton creator Shonda Rhimes in the past. Page previously was cast by Rhimes in the role of Leonard Knox, one of the star characters on the series For the People.

10. He loves coffee

Regé-Jean Page has called himself a bonafide coffee addict in the past. In a Q&A session with Netflix, the Bridgerton star revealed, “I’m a being of caffeine when I work. It is a vice, but as far as vices go, I’ll take it.”

Regé-Jean Page is known for being ultra-private when it comes to his love life and romantic partners. In fact, he’s kept his relationships so private that it’s not publically known whether he’s single or in a relationship.

8. He was spotted on Harry Potter

Eagle-eyed Harry Potter fans took note that Regé-Jean Page can be spotted in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. Despite not being credited for the role on his IMDb page, the actor can be seen at Bill and Fleur’s wedding next to Hermione when Shacklebolt’s Patronus arrives to warn guests.

7. He’s a romantic

While chatting with EW, Page confessed that he’s a romantic at heart. “I’m a huge fan of romance as a concept. Romance is a wonderful thing and we need more of it in the world,” he said at the time. “Most things at their core are love stories anyway, whether they realize it or not.”

6. He wears his character’s clothes

Regé-Jean Page shared that one of his tactics for getting into his roles is quite literally wearing his character’s shoes. “It’s a bit of a cliché, but it starts with the shoes. You walk out in someone else’s shoes, and I like to do that quite literally. The first thing I do on a job is ask for the shoes or the boots so I can walk around them at home while I’m working and build from the ground up,” he shared with Who What Wear during an interview.

5. His favorite film is Iron Man 3

Regé-Jean Page has previously shared that he’s a major Robert Downey Jr. fan and his favorite film is Iron Man 3 from the trilogy. He shared that he feels Robert Donwey Jr. feels the most comfortable in the role of Tony Stark in the last film. “I just think he settles into the role more and more as they go on,” he shared. “I think he’s been Iron Man for long enough that he probably gets better performances in some of the Avengers movies, but this is his movie, he’s completely in control of Tony Stark.”

4. He used to be in a punk band

Fans may be surprised to learn that Page was once part of a punk band. He previously shared that he formed a band with his brother during his teen years in London. “We were writing loud, angry, righteous guitar music and screaming at people with various colors in our hair,” the actor revealed to Interview magazine in 2016.

3. His past film roles

Many Bridgerton fans may have been familiar with Regé-Jean Page since he’s held roles in quite a few films and TV shows previously. Fans may remember him from the role of Khora in the film Mortal Engines and more recently in a role alongside Tessa Thompson in Sylvie’s Love.

2. His past TV roles

On the small screen, Regé-Jean is most well known for his role as Chicken George in the highly regarded miniseries Roots as well as the role of Leonard Knox in ABC’s For The People. He’s also appeared in a few UK  television shows including Waterloo Road, Casualty, and Fresh Meat.

1. He attended a prestigious acting school

Page received some of the best training in the world and actually attended a prestigious acting school in London to learn the tricks of the trade. Page graduated from the Drama Centre London in 2013. The institution has created some of the best actors of all time including Pierce Brosnan, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Emilia Clarke, Luke Evans, and more.
