Britney Spears is engaged to longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari after more than four years of dating!
Spears and Asghari announced their engagement on Instagram on Sunday. The pop star and fitness enthusiast were first linked after meeting on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video back in 2016.
The duo shared the exciting news on Instagram with Asghari sharing a photo of Britney holding up a ring to the camera covering their faces. Britney shared a video in the same setting showing herself smiling and flashing her ring to the camera at different angles.
Asghari’s manager Brandon Cohen also released a statement sharing that he is “proud to celebrate and confirm the engagement.” He added, “The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” said Cohen.
Cohen also shared that Spears’ new ring was designed by N.Y.C. jeweler Roman Malayev. “He couldn’t be happier to be involved and make this one-of-a-kind ring,” added Cohen.
Britney has had a rollercoaster of a year with the ongoing battle to end her 13-year conservatorship, but she’s been vocal about how supportive Asghari has been through it all. In August, Spears praised Asghari on Instagram for helping her through the “hardest years” of her life.
