Courteney Cox Is “So Excited” For The HBO Max ‘Friends’ Reunion

Courteney Cox is so excited to be reunited with her fellow Friends costars!

In Kevin Nealon’s webseries, Hiking with Kevin, the actress opened up to the comedian about what it will be like to reunite with her castmates from the beloved 1990s TV show for the upcoming Friends HBO Max reunion special.

“So the exciting thing is that we’re all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it’s going to be on HBO Max, and I’m so excited,” she says in the clip, which was filmed before the reunion news was announced on Friday.

“We’re going to have the best time. It’s going to be great,” Cox says. “But we really haven’t all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had. It’s gonna be fantastic.”

Last week, HBO Max confirmed that Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlace will be getting back together – on the show’s original soundstage – to talk all about Friends. The unscripted special, along with all 236 episodes of the hit series, will be available to stream at the launch of the HBO streaming service in May 2020.

For Cox, the “ideal” reunion happened last October, when the cast got together at her place for dinner.

“The ideal for me — and we just actually recently did this, and it took forever. I don’t know how many years it was, maybe 15 years — and we finally all got together and had dinner,” she tells Nealon. “And when we get together, which is never … it just doesn’t happen very often, like twice since we ended the show — it’s just the most fun. We laugh so hard.”

In addition to the show being meaningful to the actress, she also recognized the impact Friends has made on viewers and fans alike.

“I’m so thrilled that I was on a show that people actually learned how to speak English because they watched the show,” Cox tells Nealon. “It’s just touched so many people’s lives.”

The Friends reunion was announced by Cox, Aniston, Kudrow, Perry, Schwimmer with the same cast photo to their respective Instagram accounts, while LeBlanc jokingly posted a M*A*S*H* cast photo.

“It’s happening,” the stars all wrote in their captions.
