It seemed like a matter of time before Ron Carlivati stretched his fingers, opened Twitter and commented on the uproar surrounding Days Of Our Lives’ (DOOL) move to Peacock.
Finally, the head writer, who has a reputation for stirring the pot on Twitter, has weighed in on the demographic of viewers who are still upset about the soap leaving its longtime home of NBC.
“So glad I quit watching x television show but here’s everything that’s happening on it and here are my thoughts on all of those things…” Carlivati tweeted on Friday, October 21st.

Although the head writer sneakily referred to “x television show”, his comments would certainly apply to DOOL, as well as the many fans who loudly refused to pay for a Peacock subscription.
In response to a fellow Twitter user’s agreement, Carlivati followed up by tweeting an emoticon of a face covering its mouth with its hand.
The head writer is known for tracking both positive and negative feedback about DOOL on Twitter, and has vented his own frustration on the social media platform.
His defensive tone on this subject mirrors that of executive producer Ken Corday, who described those skeptical of DOOL’s success on Peacock as “bottom-feeders”.
While Peacock has yet to reveal its ratings for the soap, NBC has had a rocky period of transition since it bumped DOOL from its time slot in favor of NBC News Daily. A few weeks into the transition, NBC had reportedly lost 750,000 viewers.
