This Is Us star Justin Hartley recently opened up during an interview about how he deals with rumors surrounding his love life and how he explains the situation to his daughter, Isabella.
“I think people want to know about other people’s personal affairs, but it’s just, I would just caution people,” Hartley told Bevy Smith on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “I caution my daughter on this all the time. I said, ‘You can’t — you really can’t just believe something because you read it.’”
The actor explained that overall, he’s fine being in the public eye as an actor, but he hopes people do their own research before believing something about his life. He added that he’s happy with where he’s at and how situations in his life have unfolded.
“I’m really happy with where I am,” he said. “I’m happy with my career. I’m happy with my personal life. I’m healthy, I’m safe. I’m I mean, all of those things. So, I’m very thankful.”
Hartley also revealed that he knows fans want to “dive into” the rumors about his relationships and he realizes that comes naturally with the career he has. “If they’re getting entertainment from that, I think it sort of comes with the territory,” Hartley revealed. “But I’ve also, sort of always had this view that I will live a public [life], but I will be very private about my personal affairs.”
In June 2019, Justin filed for a divorce from his wife Chrishell Stause after two years of marriage. The breakup was a major topic on season 3 of Selling Sunset and those in Hartley’s inner circle shared that he is “irritated that [Chrishell is] airing their private information publicly and knows there is more to the story than is being told.”
