Justin Timberlake and his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright stirred up a lot of controversy when they were spotted holding hands at a bar in New Orleans, but a source revealed to Us Weekly the pair were “just friends.”
On Thursday, November 21, Timberlake and Wainwright were photographed on the balcony of the Absinthe House on Bourbon Street. On Saturday, November 23, The Sun reported the pair were chatting and drinking at the bar around midnight. The outlet also obtained photos of the duo holding hands under the table and, at some point, the actress rested her hand on the singer’s knee.
There was also a video taken of Timberlake, who appeared to look unsteady on his feet, with his arm around Wainwright’s waist. The singer, who is married to Jessica Biel, doesn’t appear to be wearing his wedding ring while out with Wainwright.
A source, who was at the same bar, told Us Weekly that the pair’s relationship is just platonic.
“Several cast members were there and it was just a cast gathering,” the source revealed on Saturday. “Nothing remotely romantic is going on with Justin and Alisha. The whole cast is shooting out there and like to hang out together. They were very much in public and nothing inappropriate was happening.”
Wainwright’s representative reached out to Us Weekly in a statement: “There is no validity to this speculation. They are working on a project together.”
The film starring the pair is a drama about an ex-college football star who returns home after he serves time in prison.
“They are like brother and sister,” another source told Us Weekly. “They are definitely not hooking up. She has been dating an actor who lives in LA.”
