It’s been announced that soaps star Kelly Thiebaud will exit General Hospital (GH).

The Emmy-winning actress, who portrays Britt Westbourne on the ABC soap, will return to prime time this fall when she reprises the role of Eva Vasquez on Station 19.

“Excited to be back on Station 19, stirring up trouble!” Thiebaud wrote on Instagram. In the post, she shared the news story, which was first reported by Deadline, but didn’t make any comments about her GH exit.

There has been no word thus far as to whether the role of Britt Westbourne will be recast.

During her decade-long run on GH, Thiebaud has left a few times yet always returned (in 2015, 2017 and 2020). And since Station 19 airs on the same network as GH, it’s very possible that the actress will one day reprise the role of Dr. Westbourne.

Thiebaud, who has also starred on Days Of Our Lives, will leave her character at a time when many fans were expecting romance for the lonely doctor. Recently, GH had been testing Britt’s chemistry with Austin (Roger Howarth) and newcomer Cody (Josh Kelly).

Thiebaud’s final airdate on GH will occur in November. The sixth season of Station 19, which is a spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy, will premiere on October 6th.
