On Saturday, March 4, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice took to her Instagram to share a heartfelt message with fans following the passing of her mother Antonia Gorga.
“Thank you for the love and support during this extremely difficult time,” she captioned a collage of photos with her late mother. “My mother was a very cherished part of our family and she’ll be deeply missed. Each and every one of your messages of love & support are so appreciated. Give her eternal rest O Lord and may light shine on her forever.”
News first broke of Antonia Gorga’s passing over the weekend with sources stating the matriarch passed at the age of 66 due to natural causes. Antonia made several appearances on the hit Bravo series over the years and is survived by Teresa, her brother Joe Gorga, their father Giacinto Gorg and seven grandchildren.
Many of Teresa’s family members also took to social media to pay tribute to their beloved mother and grandmother including Teresa’s daughter Gia, 16, who posted a sweet photo on Instagram along with the caption, “Now I have another beautiful guardian angle [sic] watching over me. I love you.”
Sources indicate that Teresa was visiting her mother at the hospital prior to her passing and this difficult time is made even harder for Teresa due to the fact her husband is currently serving a jail sentence for fraud. “Teresa is also in communication with Joe and will be visiting as soon as she can. This is a very hard time for Teresa. She was very close with her mother.”
