Simon Cowell is speaking out after his concerning bike accident that required major surgery.

On Saturday, Cowell underwent a six-hour overnight surgery after breaking his back in multiple places following a biking accident.

Cowell took to social media on Sunday night to address the injury, “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” the America’s Got Talent judge tweeted. “I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.”

“And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors,” Cowell added. “Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone. Simon.”

Simon’s rep originally shared the following statement, “Simon had a fall from his bike testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family. He hurt his back and was taken to hospital. He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands.”

Cowell was with his son, Eric, and brother, Adam, when he fell off his electric bike. He underwent a number of procedures and fusions during surgery including having a metal rod inserted in his back.

Cowell will not participate in Tuesday and Wednesday’s live telecasts of America’s Got Talent.
