It seems like Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar can’t seem to keep their daughters around lately as in what seems like a whirlwind both Jill and Jessa Duggar got married and started a family, and then Jinger Duggar just got married to Jeremy Vuolo, and now another daughter is courting!
For those who don’t know, the Duggar’s religion keeps them from casually dating as most teenagers do. Instead they announce courtships where a pair enter a relationship with the intention of marriage eventually. Now 19-year-old Joy-Anna Duggar has happily confirmed her courtship with her longtime friend, Austin.
Joy-Anna revealed the big news on TLC’s special Counting On: Jinger’s Wedding on Tuesday, November 15. “Hey y’all! I’m Joy Duggar and this is Austin,” the TLC star says in a video on her family’s website. “I just asked her to enter a courtship with me,” Austin happily added. “And I said yes!” Joy-Anna shared. “We’ve known each other for a long time.” Austin then explained they had known each other for 15 years and he had picked a certain spot to ask Joy. “I picked this spot because last time we were here together was August 1st of 2015.” “It was a whole group of us that came up and we were just hanging out and it was really late at night, the stars were just gorgeous. For me that’s really special, but then just being with him. And then now it’s even more special because it’s where we start our courtship.”
