13. Frances Bean Cobain vs. Courtney Love

Back in 2009, Courtney Love not only lost custody of her daughter Frances Bean Cobain, but she was also hit with a restraining order that prevented her from having any contact with her. Although there were some unpleasant exchanges between the two online, Love says the icy relationship that she had with her daughter is starting to thaw.

12. Tatum O’Neal vs. Ryan O’Neal

Tatum O’Neal and her father Ryan O’Neal were estranged for a number of years after he abandoned her when she was only 15. The Oscar-winning actress has criticized her father’s parenting skills. She claims that he was abusive and that he took her to Hugh Hefner’s Playboy mansion when she was a child. Tatum also that said that Ryan encouraged her to use cocaine when she was a teenager to lose weight.

9. Heidi Montag vs. Darlene Egelhoff

Heidi Montag and her mother Darlene Egelhoff were estranged for two years after Egelhoff told her daughter on live TV that she preferred how she looked before her 10 plastic surgery procedures. The reality TV star didn’t take it so well and cut her mother out of her life completely. Before the estrangement, the relationship was already rocky because Egelhoff didn’t approve of Montag’s husband, Spencer Pratt.

7. Kardashian Klan vs. Ellen Pierson

Robert Kardashian’s widow Ellen Pierson has been going after the Kardashian Klan for years. Pierson has released Robert’s private journals, which portray Kris as being an abusive and negligent parent and she has contended that Khloe isn’t his biological child. The Kardashian sisters filed a lawsuit claiming that, according to their father’s will, the journals are rightfully theirs.

6. Julia Roberts vs. Nancy Motes

Julia Roberts and her half sister Nancy Motes had a rather complicated relationship. Motes had complained about growing up in Robert’s shadow and had publicly accused her sister of picking on her for being overweight. Even though the Oscar-winning actress has never publicly responded to any of these claims, Motes had gone so far as to give a tell-all interview, airing the family’s dirty laundry. Motes recently committed suicide and reportedly left a note detailing her tortured relationship with Julia.

5. Justin Bieber vs. George Bieber

Justin Bieber and his paternal grandfather George Bieber are no longer on good terms. According to the older Bieber, the 19-year-old pop star does not help his paternal grandparents financially even though they need it. “I can’t work due to illness, so there is barely any money coming into the house and we only just about get by,” his grandfather said in an interview. “His grandma has a bad back, too, but works like a dog hauling huge bags of paint powder 40 hours a week. He was such a big part of our life, and now nothing. It’s like he is a stranger and now we barely know him.” Justin’s grandfather also contends that the singer showers his maternal grandparents with houses, cars and luxury holidays.

4. Leighton Meester vs. Constance Meester

Back in 2011, Leighton Meester sued her mother, Constance Meester, for using money that she had sent to help with her brother’s health expenses on herself. Leighton had been sending $7,500 a month and her mother had been using the money for cosmetic procedures including plastic surgery, Botox and hair extensions. Constance countersued arguing that her daughter agreed to take of her and provide her with $10,000 a month.

In 2009, Mackenzie Phillips released a memoir titled “High on Arrival” where she claims that she had a sexual relationship with her father, the late John Phillips, for a decade. Many people in her family did not believe her story including her stepmother Michelle Phillips who claimed that she was making it up.

2. Woody Allen vs. Dylan Farrow

Dylan Farrow – Woody Allen and Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter – claims that the director/screenwriter sexually abused her back in the early ‘90s when she was a small child. Allen, however, contends that Mia brainwashed their daughter and planted these ideas in her head. Dylan recently penned an open letter revealing intimate details of their relationship and the alleged sexual abuse. Allen responded by calling the allegations “untrue and disgraceful.”
