16. Bella Hadid and The Weeknd

This hookup wasn’t overly surprising, but at the same time it is always interesting when a broken up couple finds their way back to each other. Model Bella Hadid and rapper The Weeknd previously dated back in 2016 before splitting later that year. Before long The Weeknd was romantically linked to Selena Gomez and the pair were hot and heavy before breaking up after 10 months of dating and it didn’t take long for the rapper to be linked to Hadid again. In April 2018 rumors surfaced that Hadid and The Weeknd were spotted making out at Coachella and since then have been spotted together many times. While they haven’t publicly announced their reconciliation, it is clear things are red hot between the two stars again and there are rumors an engagement might be coming soon.

15. Lucy Hale and Riley Smith

After breaking up with musician Anthony Kalabretta and Pretty Little Liars coming to an end, actress Lucy Hale seemed to switch all her focus on her new show, Life Sentence, but was quickly distracted. In early February it was reported that Hale was dating her Life Sentence costar Riley Smith after the pair were spotted kissing during a Valentine’s Day dinner. A few months later it was confirmed that Life Sentence had been cancelled after only one season and while Smith and Hale’s romance seemed to continue, it didn’t last too much longer either. By July it was reported that the pair had split after Hale was seen holding hands with actor Ryan Rottman.

14.  Miranda Lambert and Evan Felker

Miranda Lambert’s love life has always been the center of attention and interest has only peaked since her split from Blake Shelton, and 2018 saw her romance dominating the headlines. Lambert was rumored to be dating Turnpike Troubadours singer Evan Felker, and the relationship surprised everyone, but most of all Felker’s wife, Staci. Reports indicated that Felker had stopped talking to his wife after he became close with Lambert while on tour in early February and then blindsided her with a divorce only 15 days after he met Lambert for the first time. At the same time, Lambert’s relationship with boyfriend Anderson East came to an end only a few months later and it seemed that Felker and Lambert had been together for some time. Due to the controversy surrounding their romance, the pair never went public but in August the country singer declared that she was single and the Turnpike Troubadours dropped out of their final performances on Lambert’s The Bandwagon Tour.

13. Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin

It seems that 2018 was the year of whirlwind romances, and that includes for Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin. Although the pair had been previously linked in 2016, their romance didn’t last long and it seemed they were better off as friends. After Bieber’s rekindled romance with Selena Gomez broke off again however he headed back to Baldwin and after only a few weeks of dating he popped the question in July! Quickly reports circulated that the pair weren’t waiting too long to get married and in September 2018 it was reported that the two were wed at a New York City courthouse.

12. Cassadee Pope and Sam Palladino

Country singer and The Voice winner Cassadee Pope surprised everyone when she ended her engagement to All Time Low drummer Rian Dawson last summer after seven years together, and then surprised them again with her new relationship this year! The singer was rumored to be dating Nashville actor Sam Palladino and the pair kept their relationship rather quiet before finally going public on social media in the summer. The couple are still going strong as Pope shared a sweet post of Palladino promoting his new Netflix movie The Princess Switch. “My real life prince plays a fictional one in his @netflix movie “The Princess Switch” out NOW! Check it!” she wrote.

11. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson

Pretty much no one saw Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s relationship coming, or the trajectory it took. The seemingly mismatched pair were rumored to be dating in May which was surprising because it was only a couple of weeks since Grande’s serious two-year relationship with Mac Miller had come to an end. As many assumed the Saturday Night Live comedian was simply Grande’s “rebound” things got even more surprising when after only a few weeks the pair moved in together and became engaged! As the whirlwind romance continued to dominate the headlines, it came to an abrupt halt in October when it was confirmed the pair had ended their engagement and split.

10. Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell

Late 2018 brought one of the year’s more surprising relationships when country singer Chris Lane was seen walking the BMI Country Music Awards red carpet with none other than former Bachelor winner Lauren Bushnell. Only one day later they kept their new romance front and center by walking the red carpet at the Country Music Awards. Bushnell was of course previously engaged to season 20 Bachelor Ben Higgins from 2016 to 2017 and then began dating Devin Antin before their quiet split in August of this year. Interestingly enough, Lane previously dated Lauren Barr who competed alongside Bushnell on Ben Higgins’ season.

The Hills alum Audrina Patridge had a pretty rough year for love following her fall 2017 split from husband Corey Bohan. The two have been embroiled in a custody battle amid their divorce while Bohan has refused to let their daughter appear on The Hills reboot with her mom, yet somehow through the mess Audrina looked towards love again. The reality star shocked everyone when she began dating singer Ryan Cabrera who she had dated eight years prior, before her relationship with Bohan. Although many were shocked to see Patridge and Cabrera back together again, fans loved it. Unfortunately the reignited romance didn’t last long and the pair split in September after five months of dating.

Ever since One Direction seemingly disbanded, Niall Horan has focused on his own music and kept a relatively low profile, meanwhile Hailee Steinfeld star has also been rising in the industry, and somehow amid their busy schedules the two found each other. The young couple were first seen getting cozy back in February and have been seen on several low-key dates over the past year. While they never officially confirmed their relationship, the pair were spotted kissing outside of a Target and it seems are still going strong!

Following his divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow, Coldplay musician Chris Martin made it clear he was still very much into actresses when he began dating Jennifer Lawrence, but his new 2018 relationship was still very surprising. After months of speculation, Martin, 41, and actress Dakota Johnson, 29, were spotted together on a date in early January and since then have been seen many times out on dates and enjoying some quality time. In October reports went viral that Johnson was pregnant and the pair were throwing a gender reveal party when blue and pink balloons were seen being delivered to Martin’s home, but Johnson was quick to deny those rumors and they were actually just decorations for her birthday party.

While Riverdale fans still can’t get enough of the real-life romance between Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse, this year the teen drama sparked another off-screen relationship. Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge, and Charles Melton, who plays Reggie Mantle, first fueled romance rumors over the summer but it wasn’t until the fall that the pair confirmed they were actually dating. On October 7, Mendes shared a cute photo of Melton kissing her forehead with the caption, “Mine.” She later defended her new relationship when a fan page posted a photo suggesting that Mendes was actually happier with her ex-boyfriend Victor. “It’s absurd to tell me that you call yourself a fan, yet your entire page is dedicated to disrespecting my relationship and my boyfriend, both of which you clearly know nothing about,” she said in part.

Pretty Little Liars actress Ashley Benson and actress/model Cara Delevingne have not publicly commented on the status of their relationship, but it is pretty clear the pair are together. Benson, who had previously only been linked to romances with men, surprised fans when she was spotted making out with Delevingne at Heathrow Airport in August 2018. It was later revealed the two had been dating for a few months prior and in September Benson wrote “mine” under one of Delevingne’s photos of herself.

Fans around the world were completely shocked when Hollywood golden couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced their split after nine years of marriage in April. For quite some time the pair laid low while focusing on co-parenting their young daughter Everly, but six months after they announced their split rumors spread that Tatum had begun to casually date singer Jessie J. Many fans felt that it was still too soon after his split to be dating but meanwhile Jenna Dewan struck up a relationship with actor Steve Kazee. Although they attended the 2017 Met Gala together, things apparently didn’t turn romantic until later May 2018 even though everyone thought they were “just friends.” Only two months later reports claimed that Jonas had popped the question to Chopra, who is 11 years his senior, during her 36th birthday celebrations. The pair are planning to be married before the end of 2018!
