The new teaser trailer features original series stars Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley back in their roles of AC Slater and Jesse Spano. This time however, Slater is the Bayside High physical education teacher, and Jesse is the mom to a Bayside High student.

“Remember how much fun high school used to be?” Slater asks Jesse in the 52-second clip.

She responds, “Can you believe that was like 30 years ago?”

The clip also features the new young generation of the cast including Mitchell Hoog who stars as Zack Morris’s son Mac Morris, and Belmont Cameli who plays Jesse Spano’s son, Jamie. “When I was in high school, I used to constantly fight with my best friend over a hot girl,” Slater says, before facing Mac. “That was actually your dad! Oh, with your mom!”

“Then I found this other girl that I really liked and I started hooking up with her instead,” he then says, facing Jamie. “Oh wait, that was your mom!”

In the reboot, Gosselaar’s character, Zack, is now the governor of California. He finds himself in trouble when he decides to close down many low-income high schools in the state and send the students to higher-performing schools instead, including Bayside.

With production now halted on the series, there is no definitive date for when the Saved by the Bell reboot will air on NBCUniversal’s new streaming service dubbed Peacock.
