9. The Case Of The Disappearing Tweet

It sounds like a job for Scotty Baldwin, doesn’t it? However, actor Kin Shriner was the one who deleted a strange tweet after it caused a ruckus amongst GH fans. “How I was treated by General Hospital after 45 years,” he had tweeted, “big issues but stay tuned!!!” Some fans attributed his comment to the major changes which are about to impact GH as a result of Disney restructuring its television division. And the mystery only deepens, now that the tweet has been removed!

8. M Is For…

That’s right, GH fans… According to the latest promo teasers, murder is on the docket this week. “Danger looms in the shadows,” a voice declares in the video, which shows an uncontrolled fire as well as a gloved hand swinging a hook. Some fans think this footage is being misrepresented to fool viewers, while others believe that GH‘s cast — which is far bigger than the other soaps — is about to get trimmed! Is this what Shriner and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie) were cryptically tweeting about? We’ll have to tune in to find out!

7. Valentin Shoots Down “Vanna”

In a Facebook Q&A set up by GH, James Patrick Stuart weighed in on the prospects of his character, Valentin, having a successful romance with Anna (Finola Hughes). “[Valentin] had no business thinking he could ever have her in his life. And yet circumstances have come into play that they find themselves staring longingly at each other and kissing from time to time,” Stuart said (as per Soaps.com). In the actor’s mind, however, those infrequent kisses spell doom. “It better happen fast because reality will come crashing down and they’ll realize that nothing beyond infatuation exists,” he exclaimed. “There’s no way they’re going to live happily ever after.” Wow, tell us how you really feel, James!

6. Stuart’s Double Duty

Speaking of Stuart, his other show, The Villains of Valley View has just been renewed for a second season! The Disney Channel has elected to pick up the comedy show, according to Variety, and will start filming in Los Angeles this fall. Stuart took time away from GH during the filming of the first season, so it’s likely that Valentin will once again depart the canvas for a few weeks or months this fall.

5. Rena Sofer Confirms GH Contact

The soap opera world was buzzing last week when GH alum Rena Sofer, who portrayed Lois Cerullo back in the 90s, announced her exit from The Bold and the Beautiful. And when Soap Opera Digest brought up the idea of returning to Port Charles, Sofer’s response got many fans excited. “Lois to this day is still one of my favorite characters that I have ever helped create and play,” Sofer replied (as per Soaps.com). Gushing aside, the actress also admitted that she’s been in touch with GH. “I’ve spoken to General Hospital in the past about stepping back into Lois’ nails,” she added. “All the stars would have to be aligned for me to step back into that role – but if they did, it would be a very exciting road in my journey moving forward.”

4. Worth Waiting For

All the viewers who never gave up on Holly Sutton have reason to celebrate, because Emma Samms is coming back to GH! While the global health crisis put Holly’s storyline on hold, it was Samms’ diagnosis with the virus that pushed the actress out of the spotlight for the next two years. It sounds like Samms’ recovery was a daily struggle, but she revealed that executive producer Frank Valentini had her back throughout the ordeal. “Frank has been just wonderfully patient and supportive and understanding — way more than I could possibly have ever hoped,” the soaps vet stated.

3. Kelly Thiebaud Lands Prime Time Gig

Late last week, Kelly Thiebaud scored a return to prime time when her Station 19 character, Eva Vasquez, was called back for the show’s sixth season. Some viewers have speculated about the character of Britt Westbourne being recast, but a few indicators suggest otherwise. Firstly, Thiebaud has left GH before and the role has always remained vacated. Secondly, Station 19 is part of the same network as GH, so ABC will have steady insights into Thiebaud’s schedule going forward. The actress is departing the canvas for another stretch but it’s very likely that she’ll return.

2. Cynthia Watros Heckled

A few rowdy audience members tainted what was otherwise a great time when they targeted Cynthia Watros at a star-studded GH event. Watros is clearly doing her job of portraying Nina Reeves, because some viewers can’t separate the actor from her character. And sadly, this allegedly resulted in an audience member verbally threatening Watros from the crowd. In another tasteless moment, a fan reportedly asked Maurice Benard (Sonny) when he was going to get back together with “the sexy one”. Watros handled the bizarre behavior in stride, because, once again, she’s a pro!

1. Back To School Shopping

As unbelievable as it seems, summer is winding down! Confirming that they set the standard for Hollywood co-parenting goals, Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash took their daughter, Harper, to get some back to school deals. According to Harper, however, that list included a lot of items that seemed recreational at best! “It seems like everything made it into our cart along with Harper’s new crayons,” Storms sighed on Instagram. See for yourself why Barash couldn’t stop saying, “no” throughout the trip!
