Last week, CBS Daytime unveiled some special dates that The Young and the Restless (Y&R) viewers wouldn’t want to miss, and one of those was the crossover episode with The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B).

New details have now been revealed about the September 26th episode, and it looks as though a long-awaited face-off between Nikki Newman and Deacon Sharpe will take center stage!

The two CBS soap operas are currently promoting the very same promo video, in which Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) decides to head to Los Angeles to confront her former husband, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). In the aftermath of Talia Morgan’s exposé on Diane (Susan Walters), Nikki will presumably look for Deacon to corroborate how he managed to help Jenkins fake her own demise.

“Sean is such a wonderful actor and brings so much creativity to his work,” Scott told TV Insider. “I loved working with him all those years ago and loved every minute of shooting our scenes together this time around.”

“We had a lot of fun working together,” Kanan agreed. “I really enjoy working with Melody; she’s got a really fun sense of humor.”

Kanan spent three years in and out of Genoa City, seducing Nikki while she was struggling with substance abuse issues. Remarkably, this will be Scott’s first time on B&B

Interestingly, Deacon has been turning his life around in L.A. while Nikki has since recovered from her dependency issues. So, will these two recognize the changes in each other?

“A leopard doesn’t change its spots, so Nikki does not expect to find a changed man when she reconnects with Deacon,” Scott said. “Deacon will see that Nikki is much stronger (and sober) than when they were together and that she is calling the shots this time.”

Kanan also chimed in regarding how Deacon will feel about this meeting.

“He’s genuinely remorseful for helping Diane,” Kanan explained. “He wants to make amends; Nikki’s not interested but she is interested in getting information.”

Viewers of both soaps can’t help but wonder if a certain piece of information will shake loose: that Sheila Carter is alive. Now that would make for a memorable golden jubilee anniversary season!
