On Sunday, November 20, many of the music industry’s biggest stars came together at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for the 44th annual American Music Awards. As always, all eyes were on the red carpet styles as the stars made their red carpet arrivals. Every year there are new trends and styles, and this year more than ever the motto seemed to be “less is better” and some celebrities pulled this off with ease, while others took a risk and did something completely different. There were all kinds of different looks on the red carpet, but these seven ladies had the absolute best:

7. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande loves to try many styles, and for the AMAs she stuck with simple yet stunning. The singer donned a lingerie bustier style crop top with white high-waist wide leg pants, which meant she showed some skin but just enough to flash her toned abs. She complimented the look with platform heels and Irit Design choker, and of course her signature ponytail for a look that was sexy yet fun.

6. Julianne Hough

While others were baring it all, Julianne Hough opted for a more “fall-like” look and looked stunning in her unique choice. The Dancing With the Stars judge donned a Zuhair Murad swirl embellished high-neck and full sleeve top which she matched with a Zuhair Murad high-waist baby blue mini skirt showing off her toned legs. She added to the shine with silver pumps and kept her sleek long blonde hair down and straight.

5. Cam

Country singer Cam can charm anyone with her stunning smile, but it was her gown that stole the show. Known for her tight blonde curls, the singer stuck to her signature color with a Greek Goddess inspired yellow gown featuring a high neck, waist embellishments and mid-leg slit. She pulled it all together with matching strappy gold heels and gold clutch, adding a pop of additional color with blue eyeshadow.

4. Ciara

Ciara was ecstatic to show off her baby bump at her first major event since announcing her first pregnancy with husband Russell Wilson. The gorgeous singer flaunted the bump in a unique and gorgeous turtleneck gown featuring a high-low black and white skirt. She topped it off with a simple updo and ankle-strap Gisueppe Zanotti Design heels.

3. Nina Dobrev

By now, entertainment fans know that Nina Dobrev can really take any style and make it look great, and she proved just that with her AMA’s fashion choice. The gorgeous actress donned a Zuhair Murad short suit with an intricate and bold silver and black pattern that she matched perfectly with a black bustier. She set off the look perfectly with black strappy Stella Luna heels and and Edie Parker clutch.

2. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has certainly given up on her outlandish red carpet fashions, and she’s all the better for it! The singer opted to bare some skin but did so in her own way of course. Lady Gaga had all heads turning for all the right reasons in her cleavage baring wide-leg white satin Brandon Maxwell pantsuit, complete with one of her signature Joanne hats that matched the suit perfectly. She let the outfit do all the talking with neutral makeup and minimum jewerly for a rocking look.

1. Selena Gomez

After taking some time away from the spotlight to focus on her personal and mental health, Selena Gomez made her first red carpet appearance at this year’s AMAs and did not fly under the radar by any means. The stunning star always has the best of the best in red carpet fashion and she definitely impressed in a simple yet gorgeous red tank sweeping ballgown. She kept the embellishments to a minimum with Cartier diamonds and a simple ponytail for a classic and amazing look.
